This piece is inspired by the nostalgic solitude of the sea and the lockdown. A stained glass boat made from broken glass and driftwood, that sails away in fragmentary memory. Getting back to the primary whole might be impossible. Yet, the broken pieces can be unified again in a new structure. Thus I am putting the broken pieces together in this stained glass boat through the mending technique of soldering.
This art piece is unique and has two components: a driftwood base and an abstract stained glass form.
The driftwood was found in Tralong Beach and it is cured.
The abstract stained glass form is made of broken glass, wrapped in copper foil and soldered together.
It is safe at touch and resistant.
